If you haven’t got the chance to grab your hot dog, do it now at Biker Jims!

We are less than 24 hours away from the official kick-off of the Colorado Rockies baseball season! As I’m sure you can imagine this is a busy and fun time for us at the restaurant. Last year was a blast and this year is looking to be even better!

If you haven’t heard or had the pleasure of trying it out yet we have a fully decked out, amazing food truck with the sickest wrap job you’ve ever seen! Even better… tomorrow it will be holding down Blake Street across from Coors field for the home opener! The menu is mean and we’re officially debuting our Rockies dog for the season, better known as “The Hum-dinger”. We took a quarter pound Fennel sausage and topped it with our original Blue Moon beer Dijon cream sauce and then we finish it with some house made purple kraut! You won’t believe the flavor on this beast so make sure to check out the truck and give the crew a holler. Things kick off at ten and go until they pass out.

Speaking of things kicking off at ten. Did I mention that we are opening the restaurant an hour early? I didn’t!?! Oh yeah… we want you to be able to start your beer intake when it’s still nice and cool outside. We’re running $2.50 Great Divide and Odell’s beer all day! On top of that we’ll be pumping out a great menu including The Hum-dinger, our world famous Elk Jalapeno Cheddar (featured on The Food Network show The Best Thing I Ever Ate!), our classic Reindeer, Wild Boar and of course the kosher all-beef. What would baseball be without an all American hot dog? We’ve got stacks of deep fried mac-n-cheese ready for you too so make sure to hit us early.

That’s about all I can rattle off for now so we look forward to seeing you tomorrow and to a great 2012 Colorado baseball season. LET’S GO ROCKIES!

P.S. Don’t neglect the cart crews… they’ll be out all day as well and they get really lonely sometimes. If you see them tell them the restaurant loves and misses them and when they are all done with work they can come by 2148 Larimer and Daniel will buy them a beer. Except Molly

It’s been a busy and great week.  We showcased a Southwest Salsa Dog developed by our kitchen manager Shane and it was a hit!  So much so that we’re bringing it back for an encore presentation next week!  As we posted earlier we’ll be closed Monday for our employee appreciation party at The 1-up (more about this later) but starting Tuesday we’ll have it rocking and ready for your taste buds.  What we’re doing in case you haven’t heard is taking our Southwest Buffalo (my favorite dog!) and giving it a treatment of deep fried avocados, home made tortilla strips, Biker Jim’s original pico de gallo, and finishing it off with a chipotle aioli.  It’s a great balance of spice, freshness and happy!

So Monday is the Biker Jim’s Restaurant one year anniversary throw down for our staff.  If you’re in the mood to ditch work with us we’re gonna be holding down The 1-up!  It’s a full vintage style arcade with a bar inside.  Come watch our staff get punished at skee-ball, handled quickly at some Street Fighter by Mr. Grant Yonehiro, and more than likely the bosses wife Karen will be putting up a Galaga high score.  She’s that good…. seriously.  We have some of the best staff in the business and we appreciate everything they do towards our success.  We are a pretty tight knit family as most of you know so Monday come down and be part of that fam.  Have some drinks, some fun, and just kick back with the crew.  We’ll be running from 3pm to 7pm and it should be a blast!  Did I mention our staff Jenga tourney?  I’m a Jenga master.  It’s true.  I’m like the Frank Lloyd Wright of Jenga.

It’s been a great first year and a huge thank you to everyone who made it out for our one year anniversary party last Sunday! Lot’s of folks were fed, plenty of beer was poured and an all around great time was had. If you missed out on the food science session with Ian Kleinman at our bar you missed a serious treat. It was an amazing time and the man is a certified food genius!

We have some huge things planned for the new year and we look forward to everyone being a part of it. Opening day for the Rockies is upon us and we can’t wait to see you! Keep your eyes peeled for our special Rockies Dog! It was unveiled on the Gabby Gourmet show last week and officially rolls out on Monday April 9th (Opening Day). Crazy beer specials scheduled for that day as well so we’ll keep you posted.

Thanks again for making our first birthday so much fun and we raise a glass to many more to come. You rock Denver!
