A few things for the heads up file this week.  Number one… THE FOOD TRUCK HAS A NEW NAME!  The “Doglorean” is running at a full blown 88 mph and we’re hoping to achieve some sort of time travel.  Until we reach that milestone though we have a few gigs going down this week where the truck will be hanging out and serving up some tasty food.  Wednesday we’ll be at the Civic Center Hump Day lunch (Civic Center Park)  as well as the Bike From Work Bash at 15th & Little Raven.  Then on Saturday we’ve got the Justice League of Street Food party!  If you’ve never been you are missing out on a great event.  Head over to facebook and follow to The Justice League of Street Food.  It’s the best way to get the inside track on these event times and locations.

We’ve got a tasty special in the restaurant this week as well.  We rolled it out officially yesterday and what we’re serving up is the Jambalaya Jerk!  We took a tasty Andouille sausage and topped it with shrimp, jerk chicken, some veggies and a touch of Caribbean spice.  It’s got some lovely heat and pairs amazing with a Great Divide Wild Raspberry Ale.  You have got to try this dog!  Stop into the restaurant and grab a bite.  The Rockies are playing all week so maybe catch a game afterwords.

Another idea we’re working on.  We have our text message notifications running and we’re taking it a new direction.  What we have in the works is our “taste texter” program.  Sign up for our text notifications and when we have a new special we’re developing we’ll send out a text message to our followers.  The first ten customers to come into the restaurant and show us the text will get to taste test our new special before we roll it out.  When you’re done we’ll stop by and ask you what you thought.  It’s a great way for us to hear what you like and as they say… ten palates are better than one!  Text BIKERJIMS to 37398 to sign up and get your shot at food beta!

Some great things to touch on today.

Our catering page is up and active!  We have two carts as well as our truck available to cater your next gig!  Take a minute and peek at the catering tab on the site.  There you’ll find a submission form with all the pertinent information we would need.  Shoot us a submission and have Biker Jim’s roll out to your event.  Schedule early because we are running like mad men and spots fill in pretty fast for all seven days of the week.

This weeks special is a beautiful thing.  We are taking our gourmet dogs to another level!  What we have rolling is The Baaba Maal.  It’s a West African inspired Fennel sausage topped with some grilled red onions, a sweet and spicy orange maple reduction, perfectly seasoned crispy chicken skin and a touch of parsley.  You will not believe the flavors in this dog.

And for the final fun fact of the day… wait for it… wait for it… WE GOT OUR PICTURE SUBMISSION PAGE UP AND RUNNING!  Send us your pics.  I would love to say anything goes but you know… we do have families so send your pics through the “Picture It” submission form on the home page and I’ll take a look at what you have. If you can impress or shock me it’ll make it to the site.  I already have some great submissions of cute girls eating our dogs and those will be up shortly.

So the new site is live and it is a beautiful baby if I do say so myself! Thanks to Arrae Creative for the work! If you haven’t taken a moment to explore it please give it a cruise. We have our catering page up and we are taking requests fast and furious! Got a gig you are interested in us working? Hit the catering page and let us know about it! We also have the new truck page up! That wil tell you each and every day where and when our truck will be for special events and random pop-ups! Another great thing about the site… you can submit your pictures for our gallery! I can’t wait to see what comes our way with that… very Pandora’s Box and all.

Things have been crazy busy here at the restaurant and the specials have been flying out the door! We have some amazing stuff planned for the next few weeks and we can’t wait to share it with you! We have also brought in a couple of top notch chefs full-time and the level of new items coming out is going to blow your mind. See… we weren’t content just being the best hot dog in Denver, we’re shooting for some of the best food overall in the entire country. You’re not gonna believe what we have planned! I’ll be sure to keep you posted. To quote Pinky and the Brain – Pinky: “What are we gonna do tonight Brain?” Brain: “The same thing we do every night Pinky… TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!” I kid haha. We just want to feed folks and make them happy. You’re gonna be VERY happy!

We are less than 24 hours away from the official kick-off of the Colorado Rockies baseball season! As I’m sure you can imagine this is a busy and fun time for us at the restaurant. Last year was a blast and this year is looking to be even better!

If you haven’t heard or had the pleasure of trying it out yet we have a fully decked out, amazing food truck with the sickest wrap job you’ve ever seen! Even better… tomorrow it will be holding down Blake Street across from Coors field for the home opener! The menu is mean and we’re officially debuting our Rockies dog for the season, better known as “The Hum-dinger”. We took a quarter pound Fennel sausage and topped it with our original Blue Moon beer Dijon cream sauce and then we finish it with some house made purple kraut! You won’t believe the flavor on this beast so make sure to check out the truck and give the crew a holler. Things kick off at ten and go until they pass out.

Speaking of things kicking off at ten. Did I mention that we are opening the restaurant an hour early? I didn’t!?! Oh yeah… we want you to be able to start your beer intake when it’s still nice and cool outside. We’re running $2.50 Great Divide and Odell’s beer all day! On top of that we’ll be pumping out a great menu including The Hum-dinger, our world famous Elk Jalapeno Cheddar (featured on The Food Network show The Best Thing I Ever Ate!), our classic Reindeer, Wild Boar and of course the kosher all-beef. What would baseball be without an all American hot dog? We’ve got stacks of deep fried mac-n-cheese ready for you too so make sure to hit us early.

That’s about all I can rattle off for now so we look forward to seeing you tomorrow and to a great 2012 Colorado baseball season. LET’S GO ROCKIES!
